Papatoetoe Cyclone

About 1200 homes in Papatoetoe were wreaked, most with out power, while 60 houses are uninhabitable. More than 20 fire crews from across Auckland are helping with the cleanup. RNZ reporter Katie Doyle was at the fire service at Freyburg Avenue in Papatoetoe this morning, she said it was carnage (which means that there was a lot of chaos, mess, and more ) and saying that their was a lot of damage too. She said that branches came off trees and a whole tree unrooted, there was so power lines that were ripped off.

Binpin Thakkar who lives on Hayworth Road, said his whole house shook, he said he could see roof tiles flying down his street, and there is broken glass from shattered windows everywhere. This all happened on Saturday the 19th of June 2021. Only one person got killed and his name was Janesh Prasad.
