KPMG

 Hello everyone so this blog post is about the KPMG trip that some of us went to. First we got on the bus and it's was kinda fun I sat next to Aye and we just talked and annoyed the people in front of us. When we got there we went in and we walked up and went into this room where the staff was. We talked for a little bit and then we got into groups, the groups were Earth, Water, Air, and my team Fire. 

This guy named John took us to look around the office, the office was really big. Then we went back to the room and ate morning tea. We had some fruit, sausage rolls, and this fruit pastry thingy but it was really good though. 

After that a lady named Christine she talked about what she wants to do. She goes to university in Pennsylvania so she is going back to america in about 2 months. After that then she gave us a drawing of a foot and we had to write how we wanted to help the planet earth. 

Then someone named jack came and we did some science. one group make oobleck, the other group did how to put air into a balloon without using your mouth, the next group did which liquid would melt the ice the quickest, and the last group which was my group we tried to made the tornado that we drew and we tried to make it move without touching it. We did this quiz about the stuff that we learned though out the day. We had some lunch which was sliders, chicken tenders, spring rolls, these corn patties, and some fruit. 

After lunch we marked the quiz, and team earth won by a half a point. We got these papers and we had to make our own planets. After that we got these lollies and an glow in the dark alien. We when back to school after that and I sat next to Finau.

I really liked going to KPMG and it was a really good experience and I hope to go again. Bye thank you for looking at my blog post bye! 

Information report about the Colosseum and Ancient Rome

WALT: I learned about the Colosseum and Ancient Rome

Ciao everyone. Today I’m going to be writing about the Colosseum in Rome. Here are a couple of facts about Rome and the Colosseum.




My first topic is about the Colosseum. The Colosseum is about 2,000 years old and it was build in 70 or 72 AD. The Colosseum is 12 stories long believe it or not, it is 620 ft, 189 meter long,512 or 156 meter wide, and 158 or 50 meter tall. The Colosseum is manly build with stone, bricks, concrete, and tuff. The Colosseum can fit 50,000 people!




My second topic is about the gladiators. Gladiators are professional fighters. Maximus Decimus Meridius is one of the famous gladiators. They didn't always fight to the death, and they weren't always slaves. The famous “thumbs down” gesture probably didn't mean death. gladiatorial bouts were originally part of funeral ceremonies. The animals gladiators fought were bears, rhinos, tigers, elephants, and giraffes.




My last topic is about the culture and history of rome. The Romans took many peoples and brought back from their wars. The clothes that people wore in ancient Rome was a short-sleeved or sleeveless, knee-length tunic for men and boys, and a longer, usually sleeved tunic for women and girls. Roman dance style were influenced by the various styles of Etruscan and Greek dance. Pyrrhic dances. Rome was found in 753 B.C. by Romulus and Remus. Romulus and Remus were the twins sons of mars, the god of war. Rome's era ended in 509 B.C. with the downfall of its seventh king, Lucius Tarquinius Superbus. Lucius Tarquinius Superbus had four kids, Sextus Tarquinius, Titus Tarquinius, Arruns Tarquinius, and Tarquinia.

 One windy afternoon a girl named Olivia went to the beach to go and swim, so she got all her things and drove to the beach. When she arrived at the beach it was kinda windy but she didn’t care because she wanted to go and touch the beautiful blue water, as she jumped into the water a big wave came crashing down and it hit her. Then she woke up and saw that she is at a island with a lot of trees, as she stood up she saw a big chest. She walked to the chest and she opened it, after that a very big ship came and saw the chest in her hands. The people in the big boat came out of their boat, they looked very dangerous, they walked over to Oilvia and said “if you give us the chest we will take you home” and Oilvia said “YES” so she gave the chest but they never took her, they left her at the island because they didn’t want her to tell anyone about them so they didn’t take her but they did give her a lot of food. So because they didn’t take her home she lived there for ages and eventually she died at the island.

Explanation Writing

 playing sport in school important to kids because it builds them a future when they are older.

I think kids should play at least one sport in school because if your really good you could maybe play for your country when your older. If you play sport when your in school if something else doesn't work you and your really good at playing a sport  can go back to playing sport. Example is like these days who playing sport they active and fit and also people who play sports for big level they get paid a lot for playing sports. That’s why playing sport in school is important.

How to make Spaghetti Bolognese

• This is how you make Spaghetti Bolognese
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 400 g beef mince
• 1 onion, diced
• 2 garlic cloves, chopped
• 100 g carrot, grated
• 2 x 400 g tin chopped tomatoes
• 400 m stock (made from a stock cube. Ideally beef, but any will do)
• 400 g dried spaghetti

Baby Caiman Description

Today I’m going to a lake to see baby black caimans hatching out of their shells. My friend here is seeing if the mother of the baby caimans are around. PHEW she isn't, we can go near the baby caimans.




So we went and it was the perfect timing because they were hatching. It takes 40 to 90 day for a black caiman to hatch by the way. We saw the baby black caiman hatching.




It was so cool and they were so cute but I didn’t want to go too close because they will probably call their mum and we don’t want that to happen. They looked pretty scaly,slimy and spiky but very cute. The babys can’t stay too long in their mother’s protection.




Eventually they have to get to the water to get their own food because their mother can’t feed them forever. It’s a dangerous track for newborn caimans. When they go into the water they might not survive because they might drown because they don’t know how to swim but I think they will be just fine.




One of my other friend is really good at mimicking the baby caiman. He did it and the mother of the baby caimans came rushing back to see what was wrong.

Cobra Description

Today I am joining someone that is a master with King Cobras. I am going to be touching a King Cobra for the first time. When he opened the box I felt really nervous and scared and when the guy pulled out the cobra it jumped at me I flinched a little bit but I tried to keep still. The snake did something to look tough so he could scare me away. That's what they do when there are predators or when they feel threatened. I’m making sure that I am keeping my distance because I don’t want to get bitten by it and as long as I stay here I am pretty sure I am safe. If I move a few Inches I might get bitten. Few minutes later while the snake was with the guy someone gave me a camera. I started to film the cobra and each way I turned it turned with me. Finally the cobra was back in the box and I felt relieved because I was so scared that it was going to bite me.

Gorilla Description

Some people made a gorilla spy cub. They put it where a group of gorillas are. The leader of the silver back gorilla has to approve that the spy cub can stay but of course they don’t know it’s a spy. The silver back has approved that the baby gorilla can stay. The Infant aka the spy gorilla was approved. When the male gorilla slaps his hands on his chest that’s a sign of power. When a Infant aka baby gorilla slaps their chest that’s an invitation to play with them. The spy infant was copying them by slapping his chest too. One of the infant’s came and pushed the spy infant over but it was an accident. He went to his mother and pretended like it never happened

The Day Of The Vesuvius Erupted

Dear Diary,

What an unforgettable day! I was busy collecting water from the well, when the sun mysteriously disappeared from the sky.




I looked up and saw dark clouds and ashes. I rushed back home to see everyone evacuate. I hurried home and I got a coat and ran out.




Then when I got out my house exploded in front of my eyes but I didn’t really care. Then I ran with the rest of the other people we were running so fast. We headed for a mountain the other direction .




Luckily some people and I made it out but some weren’t so lucky. The Volcano exploded and people were covered in ash. The people that made it out ran for it and we kept on walking. I was in shock.




Everyone had told me that the volcano was never going to erupt but it did. We stopped to rest and drink so water at a river we were already really far so I think we are safe. I just kept on thinking about all the people that lost their lives in that eruption.




I had a little rest and in the morning we kept on moving. We found a new place to live our lives but there is no volcano this time. I think that we are never going to live next to a volcano ever again because of what happened.

Going back in time and seeing how that made how chocolate in Aztec

One day I decided to go into the time machine that I made but I forgot that my little siblings were turning it off and on and were basically breaking it so I told my mum that they were messing with my time machine and then my mum grounded them. I decided that I would check if they went inside of it and messed it up but then it started moving and then I checked what was happening and it said that it was going to transport me to the 1500 century. I was so scared and then I passed out because the shaking was too much.

When I woke up I was inside this Place but it was so cool. I saw this lady helping me. I asked what happened and she said that she found me inside of this machine.

I asked where it is now and she said that it is still outside and I said “ok”. I asked what her name was and she said Isabel and I said well my name is Adriana and it’s nice to meet you. She said it was nice to meet me too.

I asked her if this is where people first made hot chocolate she said “what’s hot chocolate?” I said it was a hot brown drink with cocoa beans. She said “ooh that’s right yea we do make those”. I got up a few hours later and I went outside. It was so beautiful there were stauds and temples. The air was so fresh and the grass was really green.



I saw Isabel making some Hot Chocolate for me. I tasted the hot chocolate. It was good but it was a bit bitter. I asked for some sugar in it. She didn’t know what I meant so I just drank it. I asked Isabel if she wanted to try and help me to make some chocolate and she said YES. First,I got the cocoa beans and then I made some cocoa powder and then I asked if they had some water and then they gave me some water and then I poured it in. I mixed it and then I put it in somewhere to cool down and harden it took a day but it was done. Isabel and a few other people tried; they said that it was good but they liked the hot cocoa better. I said that it was fine but Isabel loved it so much that she ate the whole thing. I was so Impressed . Then I asked for some water and then she went down to a river and got me some water. It was so good it was the best water I have ever tasted. She gave me some food too but I didn’t like it that much but I ate it anyway because I was so hungry. It’s been a few days now and I have fixed the Time Machine. I went to say goodbye to everyone and when I got there they all made me a drawing it was so good it was a drawing of me. I hugged Isabel and I gave her my necklace and she put it around her neck and then I went into the Time Machine and I went back home but I passed out again and when I woke up I was in my bed and it seemed like nothing ever happened THE END.
